What these terms cover
These terms apply to your use of lankantax.com, including its guides, calculators and the Find a Tax Consultant directory. LankanTax Desktop and LankanTax for Accountants are licensed under the terms presented when you buy them; where those terms differ from these, the licence terms apply to the software.
Information, not advice
Everything on this site is general information about Sri Lankan tax and employment law as it stands on the date shown on each page. It is not legal, tax or financial advice, and reading it does not make LankanTax or any person named on it your adviser. Tax outcomes depend on facts we do not know about you. Where a rule is unsettled, such as the application of the 15% rate to remitted foreign-currency income, the page says so. Confirm your position with the Inland Revenue Department or a registered practitioner before relying on it.
Calculators
The calculators apply the published rates and formulas for the year of assessment stated on each tool. They are estimates. They do not know about reliefs, exemptions or income you have not entered, and they can be out of date between a law changing and our update. We are not responsible for a payment or filing decision made on the strength of a calculator result.
Directory
Firms in the Find a Tax Consultant directory are listed because they appear on the CA Sri Lanka practising register or present themselves publicly as tax practitioners. Inclusion is not a recommendation, we receive no payment for listings, and we have not verified the quality of any firm’s work. Your engagement with a firm is between you and that firm.
Using the site
You may read, link to and quote from the site for personal or professional use with attribution to LankanTax. You may not republish whole pages, scrape the directory or the calculators for a competing service, or use automated tools in a way that burdens the site. The LankanTax name and logo are ours.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided as is. To the extent Sri Lankan law allows, LankanTax and the people named on its pages are not liable for any loss, including tax, penalties or interest, arising from use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo.
